Announcing the Gerald Dolan Music Fellowships
Music students in Ipswich will receive generations of benefit from a Fellowship program, established by an anonymous donor in 2015 — described as a "local patron of the arts” — to honor longtime Ipswich Director of Fine Arts and music teacher, Gerry Dolan.
Officially, the "Gerald Dolan Music Fellowship” will "encourage Ipswich Middle and High School music students to improve and grow as musicians through either the purchase of a better instrument, or through the benefit of private instruction on their instrument of choice, including voice. The broader goal is to inspire a life-long love of making music.”
In practical terms, the Dolan Fellowship will provide $3,000 a year. Two $1000 instrument fellowships will support purchase of band or orchestra instruments. Two $500 Private Lesson Fellowships will support students' pursuit of additional skills.
Please see more detail in the original overview document below.
Applications for the Dolan Fellowship grants are available from music teachers at the Middle and High Schools.
