IMADA Annual Fundraising Campaign 2024-2025
December 2024

Dear Friends and Family of lpswich Arts Students,

With your support, the Ipswich Music Art and Drama Association - IMADA - raised more than $34,000 in 2023-2024, a massive 25% increase over the prior year! Dare I suggest it was because you were all enchanted by our IMADA jingle, which debuted in December 2023 (view the donation form in the 2024-2025 IMADA Fine Arts Program Book on page 44 for a refresher on the lyrics).

With enormous gratitude for our donors, who chose to support arts education in Ipswich with gifts ranging from as little as $1 to as much as $1,000, IMADA was able to provide support for:
   •  $14,900 of study grants for 6th - 12th graders to pursue arts instruction over the summer, a 70%increase over 2022-2023;
   •  $6,000 in scholarships for our graduating seniors to continue their study of the arts post graduation;
   •  $11,000 in support for enrichment programs in the arts beyond the classroom, such as state competitions, masterclasses, guest conductors and artists, and improvements to facilities such as art drying racks and new band instruments.

We also raised $3,300 for the new Brooks and Peter McPhail Memorial Fund, with the mission to support arts education expenses for students in financial need. We distributed four grants to support three students at Ipswich High School who otherwise would not be able to afford lessons.

The impact of IMADA's work goes far beyond financial support. IMADA volunteers coordinate raffles, swag, concessions, tickets, the new senior music and drama awards banquet, Jazz at Shalin Liu, and so much more. IMADA acts as the support network for our hardworking fine arts staff and students, ensuring that the legacy of fine arts excellence in Ipswich that we've all come to expect and love will carry on, and on, and on.

Do you love the Ipswich Public Schools arts program, and all it has done for your student? I was in your shoes three years ago, wondering how or if I should invest my precious time to support the arts in Ipswich. I chose to volunteer for IMADA because I know how profoundly IMADA's work helps our students and staff Right now, IMADA needs your help; IMADA officers serve a three-year term and the current officers (myself included) are in their third year. I hope you will, as I did, consider stepping up to play an active role to ensure that the next generation of Ipswich arts students enjoy this same legacy of fine arts excellence. Please come find me or any IMADA volunteer to learn more! I look forward to welcoming you to our wonderful organization.

With gratitude,
Meg Travis
President, IMADA

A NOTE FROM THE IPSWICH DIRECTOR OF FINE ARTS
December 2024

IMADA's generous support has a profound impact on every aspect of our fine arts programs. Their unwavering dedication empowers the fine arts staff to elevate our classes to new heights, allowing us to focus on what we do best: teaching. Through their steadfast commitment, IMADA provides invaluable grants to our students, including those for summer study and instrument lessons. These grants are vital, enabling students to refine their skills both inside and outside the classroom.
IMADA's support ensures we can engage talented adjunct faculty and experienced judges who inspire our students to push their creative boundaries and reach new levels of excellence. Their financial assistance covers fees, materials, and sustains our students' artistic pursuits, ensuring that no financial barrier stands in the way of their creative journey. Additionally, IMADA's support extends to logistical assistance, ensuring that our students can travel, perform, and showcase their talents beyond our local community.

Together, we foster a vibrant community where artistic expression thrives, and where the beauty and power of the arts are cherished and celebrated. The Fine Arts staff is proud to stand alongside IMADA, and we eagerly look forward to the journey ahead -- a journey that strengthens our programs and nurtures the artistic aspirations of all our students.

Sincerely,
Michael Coelho
K-12 Director of Fine Arts
