Why become a business sponsor

Research and student test results have clearly shown that study in the arts is a powerful way to improve student performance in all academic and social areas. In addition, creativity and innovation developed through an education in the arts are key skills needed for all students to succeed in a global economy.

As we move forward in these difficult economic times, it is imperative that a quality education in the arts is maintained as a basic and integral part of each child’s educational experience in the Ipswich Public Schools.

The support of our business community is crucial to bridge the gap in funding for the arts in our schools.
Ipswich has a tradition of a rich appreciation of the arts in our community and your support helps to ensure that tradition continues.

A few ways local businesses have helped:

Thanks to the generous support of our business sponsors IMADA has been able to assist in fostering arts in our public schools and beyond by funding projects and providing materials to enhance their programs. Here are a few ways their support has helped:
  • Goldman Sachs Gives Charitable Trust contributed $25,000 to IMADA in 2011 which helps fund our college scholarships for Ipswich High School seniors.
  • L. B. Foster granted IMADA $2,000, and IMADA matched it, to purchase a new vibraphone for the middle and high schools.
  • The Ipswich Center for Physical Therapy provided funds, matched by IMADA, to support the Robin Silverman College Scholarship.
  • The 2 Depot Square Charitable Foundation of the Institution for Savings was the lead sponsor of IMADA’s annual fall fundraising concert. They also awarded a grant of $750 to help pay for the new sign at the Ipswich Performing Arts Center.
  • Ebsco Publishing, Inc. co-sponsored IMADA’s annual fall fundraising concert.
  • The following businesses and organizations helped support The Company of IHS (our drama club) in its trip to perform at the 2011 Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland: Essex County Youth Soccer Association, Marini Farms, Tupperware Corp., PAX Massage, Meridian Associates, MYDATA Automation Inc., International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 39, and the Ipswich Rotary Charitable Trust.
  • The Ipswich Cultural Council supplied a grant to help support our hosting of the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild Preliminary Festival.
  • The Northshoremen Barbershop Choir and the North Shore Jazz Project helped support the Ipswich High School's Spring 2011 Concert Tour of England.
